The OSBN Story

I have been asked by many OSBN members about how I started OSBN. The idea started in May 2010 when I was exploring ideas on how to reach my target audience. I was offering web design services then, and I was looking at ways to reach out to potential clients. I connected with few business owners who already have established business, and I was seeking to learn from their experience and dig into their innovative mind. I was short on resources so to pay someone to market or sell for me was out of question; and since I was in the web design business I settled on creating a social media network for small businesses in Ontario. In the course of three years I had 700 small business owners registered on the network. I was advertising my services and I built few websites as a result of this initiative. In 2013 I was talking to a business owner who encouraged me to think of ways to make these 700 small business members active and interactive, and that's when I decided to start the business networking events. Coming from the corporate world had helped me organize the networking events to quickly capture recognition among the small business community. Opportunities opened and big sponsors were interested to join as presenters. The credible history OSBN has built makes it now among the leading small business networks and for that I am thankful. OSBN continues to be the leader in holding organized business networking events in Peel and Halton Regions, and plans are in place for OSBN events to spread across the GTA.
